I stayed at The Carlton a few years back and it was much nicer. There was a great restaurant named Country there which is no longer. The rooms are small with much need of refurbishment. We had an executive king which was much smaller than any other hotel rooms which we have stayed in New York. I would hate to...

Great hotel, excellent, friendly staff. I agree the rooms are a bit small. Great location in NYC. Pricey - yes but again it's NYC. Rooms were clean, attractive and well appointed. Lovely stay at the Carlton

We had a delightful overnight stay at the Carlton. Everything was clean, and the service was superb. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because the room was small (but, hey, it's NYC!) and dark, facing an air shaft. But they try to make up for it with the lovely decor. The lobby is gorgeous, too....
