Never underestimate the power of kelly-green carpet and faux Tudor walls to transport you to a beer nook deep in the Swiss Alps, when in fact you're no farther from home than a dive in an aging La Mesa strip mall. It's the sort of place where salt-and-peppered former sailors with tattoo sleeves that are easily older than you peddle magic tricks in exchange for drinks, white patio furniture...

This bar has pool tables, darts, bar-top video games and a juke box. It only serves beer and wine. It has an outdoor area for smokers.
