This is such a great space. A lot of history, dating back to the 1950's. Love the productions.

The Star Theatre Company puts on professional level productions right here in North County! Since the new managing artistic director took over a few years ago, the quality of the adult and the youth productions has been outstanding. Every time I see a Star Co. show, I hear audience members raving about the level of talent. It's hard to believe these actors are not professionals.

Attended the Star Theatre Saturday Night and watched a play by the name of "Fools". I must say I was quite impressed with this production. The quality of acting was excellent and the play was really quite funny. I strongly recommend this show to those looking for a quaint evening full of laughs. The theatre is nice and downtown Oceanside offers a lot of options before and after the show.

Maybe $10 isn't much comparing it to Broadway or something, but to watch our preschoolers in a play, $10 seemed steep, especially when there were large families.The place is falling apart inside, carpet old and smelly, bathrooms pretty dirty and outdated, however, it is a jewel and very cute outside, just needs updating if you want to charge so much to watch preschoolers.Thanks!

The Star Theatre was founded in 1956 and, after serving for much of its history as a popular movie house, is today a community-based, non-profit theatre for live theater productions, music concerts and lectures. The theater is home to the Coast Kids Theatre and the Star Theatre Company.
