Editorial reviews from the web (3)

Happily haggard bank-cum-hooch parlor. Tatts, Betty Page bangs and Billy Gibbons beards remain standard issue. Regulars wrap digits around PBRs and splash tonsils with shots. Punk, alt-country, rockabilly, metal, indie and kindred acts rock teeny stage. Comedy and karaoke lure droves on Monday nights. Spiffy collegiates bump rumps for Tuesday's disco theme. Peruse Grace Vault, an old money...

Atlanta's trendiest untrendy bar bolsters Little Five Points' nightlife with loud music, stiff drinks and an unpretentious crowd.

In Short
At the Star Bar, a nice tattoo trumps a fat wallet any day. Pleasantly rowdy crowds toss back shots from paper medicine cups, keeping at least one eye on the small stage, which...

Housed in a former bank, this funky and cavernous club features the "Grace Vault" -- a small shrine filled with Elvis posters, an all-Elvis jukebox, Elvis clocks, and other memorabilia. Primarily a Little Five Points neighborhood hangout, it's very low-key and offbeat. Live music Wednesday through Saturday nights runs the gamut from rockabilly to R&B. Most of the performers are local and...

Great place to catch live rock n roll and punk bands. Divey atmosphere. Smoking allowed. Reasonably priced for Atlanta. This is my go to late night spot...

Too smoky - even the doorman / bouncer smokes a huge cigar! now get real, a cigar? don't you know how obnoxious a cigar is!?! there's enough cigerette smoking as it is. i love the star bar's selection of bands, the location, the disco ball - it's a great spot. just get your employees to show a little more respect to the patrons.

If asked to give a definition of a rock and roll club, simply draw a map to this Little 5 den of iniquity known as The Star Bar. Loud as Hell, the room full of tattooed boozed up hipsters, motorcycle jacket-donning punks, and too-tight jean wearing musicians mingle together in harmony slurping down The Champagne of Beers and PBRs like it's going out of style. Hosting monthly sell out showcases like Pop Death Squad's aptly named ""Big Trouble in Little Five Points, Star Bar packs in the patrons 'til the wee hours. And folks, if the vintage photo booth is a-rockin', you just may be...

Celebrating 20 Years of Community Service

The small door on Moreland Avenue may not give it away, but this swinging joint is a prime hotspot on the local music scene. Featuring live bands every night, the Star is a longtime favorite for catching rising acts and great neighborhood groups. Wild and a little wacky, the dimly lit ambiance leans a bit toward the psychedelic. When the music is not blaring, the place tones down a bit, but...

Housed in a former bank, the Elvis shrine in the old vault must be seen to be believed. Don't miss the Little Vinyl Lounge downstairs, with its stone walls, red banquettes and small outdoor patio area.
