Spring Street Smokehouse Restaurant Review

Incongruously on the fringe of Chinatown, near downtown Los Angeles, Carolina-style barbecue is being served up in a bright counter-service storefront. Jammed into the small space, communal tables are topped with bags of pre-sliced soft white bread for making impromptu sandwiches or sopping up the juices of flavorful, tender, smoky ribs, brisket, pulled pork, sliced tri-tip, hot links, turkey...

Chinatown, not the most obvious location for a Southern-style BBQ joint, but don't judge, just eat. Quirky interior trimmings, fluorescent lights and such, fit the neighborhood decor descript. Sit down and break bread -- the white, sliced variety you'll find on your table -- before getting saucy. Famous for sweet and smoky pork, beef, buffalo ribs topped with regular or spicy BBQ sauce. Other...

An independent rental shop with an eclectic selection of videos and a massive DVD collection.

In ShortLocated in the heart of the flamboyant Castro District, this shop lives up to the reputation of its neighborhood. Castro Video boasts the largest collection of gay, lesbian, bi and transgender films in the city, including general interest films and X-rated videos. As at most video stores, an impressive collection of DVDs is slowly taking over the front of this independent shop. Overall...

Chinatown hole-in-the-wall serves Southern barbeque classics and unique pit-smoked specials.

In Short
