Spice Market Restaurant Review

Jean-Georges Vongerichten continues to influence Spice Market’s menu, but Shean Suter delivers the fare day-to-day. Dishes are served family-style and include coconut milk and chicken soup, Vietnamese spring rolls, and edamame with yuzu butter and mace salt. Among the small plates, however, we especially recommend the black pepper shrimp with sun-dried pineapple, the sweetness of the fruit...

Cloned from chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s NYC original, this “trying-to-be-cool” spin-off in Midtown’s W Hotel rolls out “creative”, shareable SE Asian street food in “good-looking”, candle-strewn digs; but cynics who find things “not that great” cite “overpriced”, “hit-or-miss” cooking and wonder “where everybody is.”

Celebrity Chef Jean-GeorgesVongerichten wins over Atlanta’s heart with Taj Mahal sized delicacies such as the papaya and cashews or onion and chili crusted short ribs. Nestled within the W-Atlanta, Spice Market continues in the oversized footsteps of big brother joint in New York. A mix between warm modernism and futuristic décor, it’s a haven for business and pleasure.

Hi-end Asian street nibbles are a big hit at the saucy Spice Market---a sexy Jean Georges creation in the W Hotel in Midtown.

In Short
Perched in a sexy position on the second floor of the glamorous W Hotel, Spice Market's dim, chocolate booths and Warhol-like video projection make even the square Midtowner feel...

Our waiter took an appetizer order that didn't come until right before our food was served. We also didn't get water poured until our main entrees arrived. We ordered drinks that came late. The charcuterie appetizer is delicious. I had...

Food was better than it had been before, but still pretty heavy (lots of fried stuff). We had two vegetarians and options were fairly limited as was the wine list (really should go beyond California!). However, nice waitress, really tasty salads and flavorful entrees made for a fun evening.
