Information about this business (1)

Son's is a tiny, southern-styled eatery, crammed with mismatched tables and chairs. Right behind the steam table, the cooks fry chicken in black cast iron skillets. Son's is famous for crispy pork chops, ribs, and fried fish, too. Rice and gravy, sweet potato pone, cabbage, greens, and pinto beans are popular sides. Homemade rolls or fried cornbread accompany meals. Enjoy sweet tea and Son's...

Great traditional southern food at a very reasonable price. The fried chicken is juicy and flavorful and the sides are so good you wish you...

Really Good!!

This was a great place to go when you know the money goes into the food, and not how the place is decorated. It was really good. The portions were just right. To anyone who says the portions are small, its because they must weigh 200 lbs + and eats over 5 huge meals a day. The food is great! did not have the tea, but had everything else and felt like i just walked out of my grandmother's kitchen (who can cook her head off!). i will definitely be going again.

Pros

+ good southern comfort food, huge portions, decent price

Cons

- no parking, open limited hours, closed every weekend

decent soul food. I wouldn't make it a destination trip. But if you are in the area it will do.

2 totally different experiences. Food was fantastic one time, overcooked, hard and dry the next time. Sides were great both times. Will definitely try again. Love hearing that bell ring. Place has a lot of character.

Most newcomers ask, "Son of who?"
