My first appointment with Dr.Margaux Grason was scheduled for a checkup and basic cleaning. Traditionally X Rays coms first, then the cleaning, then the checkup. This staff conducted the process backwards. After checkup they said that 2 teeth needed a deep cleaning and refused to provide the scheduled standard cleaning. I preferred not to do deep cleaning in the dental office with unknown reputation. Needless to say that the deep cleaning is more expensive. I called Illinois State Dental Society and found out that there are no regulations regarding cleaning and deep cleaning could be recommended, but basic cleaning could be performed in the same time. An identical story about So Well office was published on YELP by Tayler R. on 6/27/2014. Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews (most of them are negative) before my visit to the So Well office. If this dental office or Dr. Grason personally has a specific policy regarding cleaning why the new patients are not informed about that before the appointment? Why I was not told that type of cleaning would be determined after checkup? I would like receive the explanations from Dr. Grason. I filed a complaint to BBB. There was no respond from the doctor. I am computer programmer/consultant and my insurance was active only for the time frame of the project. The doctor has known that I could use my insurance only in August. Now I have to go to a doctor with a better reputation and pay for the cleaning out of my pocket. I invite all new and existing patients to read the reviews on YELP before you make a decision about your next appointment in this office.
Do NOT go here. This is a dying office that is doing whatever they can to cover overhead costs. The receptionist and the hygienist bad news. Dr Sowell , pleasant personality yet not straight forward.
