I have stayed at the Sheraton Downtown twice on trips to Atlanta (both times for the SEC basketball tournament at the Georgia dome) and will stay there again if I go back. It is located very close to the Dome as well as Olympic Park and the CNN center. The walk is easy and pleasant. The hotel is clean and nice with friendly staff. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but I don't go on...

This was a nice hotel in terms of amenities, as it had a beautiful courtyard area (with a colonial Spanish theme) with a hot tub and indoor pool. The cafe was fine, as was the hotel bar and restaurant. The hotel was only about 3 blocks from Hard Rock and several other areas to dine or go out, but the general area was pretty seedy. Be careful about venturing too far at night on foot!
