Schlotzsky's may sound like a New York joint, but the first link in this chain actually opened in 1971 in Austin, Texas. Their original sandwich on warm sourdough bread is still available, but today you can also choose from pizzas, salads, soups and a variety of other sandwiches such as the Texas Schlotzsky's on toasted jalapeño cheese bread or Angus Pastrami Reuben on toasted dark rye bread....

Very little meat in the original. Other Schlotzkys are far better. Huge disappointment to my guests. Exposed ceiling pipes drip dirty condensation in your food.
