The folks at this lovely downtown eatery believe that a quick lunch can still be a satisfying culinary experience. Witness the extensive and creative array of fresh salads, soups, pizzas, noodle dishes and sandwiches. The Grilled Salmon Club delivers more enjoyment than you'd even think to ask from a sandwich. Similarly, the environment is more than you'd expect from a casual lunch-spot. The...

Sascha's 527 Cafe is the creation of Sascha Wolhandler and Steve Suser. After more than 20 years as Baltimore's stylish boutique caterer, they have taken a charming 19th century Mt. Is Sascha’s the most glamorous restaurant in Baltimore? There’s plenty of competition, but Sascha Wolhandler’s dramatic digs are certainly in contention. The dining room --- known to the movie-going public as Boogie’s hair salon in “Diner” --- boasts a red velvet-curtained entrance, 16-foot ceilings, towering floral arrangements and a vintage chandelier. Guests feel like royalty even before...

Sascha's has put together an eclectic menu and a colorful but sophisticated dining room, with high ceilings and velvet banquettes. Dinner choices range from burgers to seafood entrees, but the "taste plates" are where Sascha's shines. These range from a cone of fries to mini bison burgers to Sascha's decadent BLT with lobster. At lunch, the restaurant goes buffet style, with salads, panini, and...

We came to Sascha's for lunch while visiting the Walters Gallery and the Maryland Historical Society museum. Sascha's is a great place to grab a light lunch when museum hopping. We had a chopped...

Good for lunch at the restaurant or office

Located on Charles Street in Mount Vernon, Sascha’s is one of my favorite lunch spots and favorite caterers for business lunches at the office. I love the fresh grilled sandwiches and elegant-casual atmosphere for lunch onsite, and everyone loves showing up for a business lunch and finding Sascha’s Silver Sacs—bagged lunches way better than anything you took to school. The Silver Sacs include a...

Great decor, great food

Dramatic dining in Baltimore, can you believe it? The restaurant has great atmosphere and is very warm and inviting. The service has sometimes been spotty, but most times it is spot-on. Tasty breadsticks are on the table, and they bring you a nice 'amuse bouche.' Everything we've tried there has been wonderful. Prices are average to a little high.

Sascha's is a quaint little restaurant nestled in the heart of Mt. Vernon. You can find it by its signature burgundy exterior paint and decorative fruit adorning the doorway (usually some pineapples, at least). The atmosphere is a little too chic for my taste (i.e. You're paying for the atmosphere, perhaps more so than for the food). The wait staff was friendly. Parking is available, but...

I've heard good things about the drinks and dessert at Sascha's 527 Cafe.
I met up with a group of friends here to do just that -- grab dessert and drinks. Wasn't a bad idea.
Service was fantastic, very friendly and attentive especially on a Friday night. I gathered from the friends who did order food that it was mediocre....

Sascha's 527 Caf

Our food can best be described as creative American, with global touches from Asia to France, and Morocco in between. Along with grilled and sautéed entrees, we feature our own "taste plates", a smart way to sample a variety of tastes as an alternative to a single entrée. We've taken the tapas concept and tailored it to a Sascha's specialty. If green's where you want to be, you'll find the...
