Ruben's has a few locations across the city. I've only eaten at this one and I think it is excellent. Admittedly, the reviews on Ruben's are pretty mixed on Yelp but I think it has more to do with the reviewers than the restaurant.

First of all, Ruben's serves Argentinian style empanadas -- i.e., they are baked not fried and the flavors are more varied than what many people are used to --...

Easy and tasty vegetarian lunch!

I wanted to write to let people know that the spinach empanada does not have cheese in it (contrary to the earlier reviewer's assumption). In addition to spinach, it has tofu and nutmeg in it. It may not be what you would expect, but I like it! And

Better than what I had heard.

This is a review for the Ruben's by Broad St. I was pleasantly suprised. I had heard that this place was a rip-off. I got a very satisfying empanada, plus rice+ beans for about 9 bucks. The rice and beans was so much that I had to leave it in the frid
