Innovative New American Cuisine
A Village "standby" for "homestyle cooking", this "laid-back" New American does a "solid" job with its "unpretentious" menu; admittedly, it's "not quite fine dining", but the "fair value" keeps regulars regular.
Philip Marie (named for owner-chef John Philip Greco III and his wife and hostess, Suzanne Marie) is one of New York’s best family-owned restaurants. The landmark building that houses this West Village nook was once a Civil War hospital and, later, a speakeasy. Now it’s a warm and busy spot featuring the cuisine of Greco, who was chef in respected Uptown restaurants before creating his own...
Cozy and classy with seafood worth killing for. Sweet upscale-bistro décor sets the stage for your "singing scallops" and "dancing shrimp." Clambake on Tuesdays packs 'em in. The stuffed pork chop is delish, ditto the Overstuffed Chicken Pot Pie. Private Tasting Room converted from long-lost 18th-century farmhouse kitchen. Amid ex-speakeasy labyrinth find the Wine Room, a private wine cellar...
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and classically trained in Europe, Chef/Proprietor John Greco has worked at such renowned restaurants at San Domenico, New York and Imola, Italy, Cipriani/Harry's Bar, New York and Venice, Le Cirque, and Torre di Pisa both of New York, where he was executive chef. With his classical training and broad experience, Greco now focuses his special...

This was a great place recommended by friends who brunch often. Wonderful food and great service and they were patient with our table with a large crowd.
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was romantic. I can't wait to go back!
Appetizers and the service were outstanding - perhaps the most attentive service we had all weekend! They also have dayly special menus. Wen went on Wednesday and they got Prime Rib Night for around 20 bucks. That's a great deal. Overall, I'll give four stars for the service.
Great experience! The food was amazing ! 1st time and will definitely be my goto when I'm in NYC for Brunch on a Friday. There was no crowd so we in and out! I recommend the crab Benedict if you like crab. It was so fresh and ?!! Also the pineapple burger. Every component of the burger compliments the next. Thanks Philip Marie! ?
The Lumberjack brunch is delicious and you can't beat the $26.95 unlimited mimosas special!!Food is smaller then you think tho.

Mix and match items from the creative menu at this romantic bistro, which features American food with a twist. You first pass under an American flag and then enter the dining room walking past photos of regulars and the staff. Standard rosemary chicken gets a touch of salsa and barbecued ribs are topped with peach and mango relish. Diners favor the overstuffed Chicken Potpie and the grilled...
