After much consideration my family and I had decided to purchase a large saltwater aquarium after successfully keeping a 12 gallon tank for several years. With money in hand and with great anticipation and excitement we entered the store with the intent on purchasing the biggest tank we could find and all of the support equipment necessary to maintain it. Upon entering the store and making our way over to the aquatics department one of the employees ran over to us and began to berate my six year old daughter for skating in the store. After I informed the employee that we understood, another gentleman made his way over to us and, in the most condescending and offense tone possible, told my daughter she was not to skate in the store and looked upon us with disdain before walking away. We were never asked if we could be helped.
My problem is not that we were asked not to skate in the store. I understand the liability issue and would have been more than happy of correct my daughter. It was the absolutely unacceptable, rude, and offensive manner in which my family and I were treated. Instead of celebrating our new venture I found myself consoling my six year old daughter who was reduced to tears by two employees that apparently were inconvenienced by our presence in the store.
Without making a scene, my family and I left the store and drove to one of the competitors where we found a friendly staff and happily spent $1,642.32 on a complete 100 gallon saltwater set up. (Tank, stand, hood, protein skimmer, etc.) Given the fact that the store was completely void of customers at the time when we were in, I’m guessing my purchase would have had at least a marginal effect on the sales figures for the day.
my family likes to visit like once a week. its like a small zoo for my kids. we love it.

One month ago I walked into this store and saw a small cage of budgies (parakeets) cramped together and covered in fecal matter! The cage appeared to not have been cleaned in MONTHS! I wrote a letter and recieved no response. I walked in to check on the birds a week or so ago and there was no change. One bird was bleeding from being attacked by the others. Feed was contaminated as well as the water. I sent an email to the district headquarters and attached two pictures. Two days later the manager emailed me and requested a meeting.
She stated she'd personaly cleaned the cage her self...
