Pearson & Nespor Animal hospital now called Pearson Animal Hospital is a good vet clinic. We have been a client for over 4 years.
Dr. Pearson maybe quick but will spend time exam if need. At rare occasion, I have spend over 20 min in room while she was looking at dog. This location does not charge a lot of money so they see a lot of clients. These means they don't have much time to socialize.
Dr. Pearson and the other vets have always answered my question related to my animals. Even after hours on her cell phone. That is great.
A few times when I stopped in she came out of a room to talk to me about a few things.
I don't known much about the SNAP. The dogs we have have never been sprayed/neutrued up there. but I over heard one client paying around $150 for it one time.
This place is a very good vet.
I should have known better.
After reading a slew of horrible reviews about this office, I was leary but decided to check them out and express my concerns right up front. What a waste of breathe and time! They claim to be a participant in the SNAP program and "want to help", but are butchers and con artists. Even after assuring me that the bad reviews (which the docs read and then add their own planted, glorious reviews to mask the bad), were simply not accurate and they were honest, caring vets, they had the audacity to tell me that my $85 neuter was going to cost just under $600! And that was IF there were no complications or additional treatments needed! Obviously, if I were in a position to pay anywhere near that cost, I would have gone to our own wonderful vet (Aloha Animal Hospital) and not called the SNAP program. I even expressed just that both on the phone when making the appointment AND to the doctor before he assured me that they were there to help. What a bunch of crooks. I'm so happy we walked out or I'm sure we would have also found out that the reviews calling them butchers and murderers were also true.
My husband and I had adopted a rescue kitten from a great organization down in Chula Vista. The adoption fees covered the first year of shots and spay/neuter. But, since Chula Vista is so far from us, we were told we could take our kitten to a vet near home. This is how we found Dr. Pearson's.
We come into the office with all three of our cats. All needed to be dewormed and the kitten (now 6 months) was in to be spayed. We explained the whole situation to the person checking us in. We mentioned several times that the adoption agency was going to pay for the spay job and nothing was said on their end about it. The two cats were given shots, the kitten was taken away and we were told we could pay when we came back that day to pick her up. We were also told to bring in the other two cats 2 weeks later for the second round of deworming shots. The vet treated us and the cats coldly, but we didn't mind as long as they were taken care of.
My husband left for work and I planned on returning to the vet to pick up the kitten a mere 4 hours after dropping her off. When I returned, I was told the total of the bill and realized it was much too high. Our adoption agency told us they would be calling to pay. Turns out, the vet wouldn't accept their payment and would only accept my paying there, on the spot. I knew the adoption agency would work with us so I did and I made sure to get copies of the bill. I was breifly told about the kitten's pain medicine, to keep her isolated for a day or two and no food for the rest of the day. We went home and I followed what the vet tech told me to a 'T.'
The next morning, I checked on the kitten only to find out that she had pulled out all of her stitching. Panicked, I put her in her carrier and raced back to the vet. I was met with wide eyes and suspicious looks from the staff who kept asking me, "what happened?" as if I had pulled them out myself. Another vet came up and asked me if I had removed the cone. Cone? What cone? In the verbal instructions nothing was mentioned. The vet tech who I had talked with lied and said she told me to put on a cone if I saw her licking the area. 1.) She never did 2.) How can I watch her when she probably did it while we slept 3.) How can we watch her if she is isolated in a room by herself? We gave her the quitest room in the house hoping not to get her excited. I was furious that, not only did they not fully make me aware of her need for a cone, they were treating me as the negligent person. Another vet tech also said they normally don't worry too much about the cones with female cats since they "usually don't bother the stitches" Even if there was a chance, a cone should have been put on her from the get-go.
After getting the vet to fix the area (with staples this time) and paying for a cone, I took her to another vet. The next vet looked at her, no charge, and gave me much more information that Dr. Pearson's office ever did. We had all the cat's records trasnfered by the afternoon and I swear I will never step foot in that office again.
Very good clinic and caring personals...I give 5 stars for all...
We always get the best of care for our pets at Pearson's Animal Hospital. The entire staff is very efficient and caring. Thank you for always being there for us!
We Love Dr. Pearson! Four years ago we moved away from San Marcos, But we still go to her office. We couldn't ask for a better Vet.
Dr Pearson is absolutely an emazing person. Somehow she is able to take care of everyone within just a few minutes. I have been using her for my "best friends" for close to 20 years.
Went in for vaccinations and there was no pressure of other services.
