There are no words to adequately describe this experience. It was overwhelming, moving, and life changing. Take the time, you will not regret it. The structure is beautiful. It's not an amusement park and commands respect. If you have time, I strongly recommend attending early Mass.

The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, in Hanceville is about an hour drive from Birmingham. The drive through the interstate was very relaxing. Fall foliage paved the way and it was just beautiful. Exiting from the interstate, you go through a well-maintained country road.
The entrance to the monastery is very welcoming and looked like a vacation ranch-style property....

We came to Birmingham to attend two of the TV shows that air on the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) in nearby Irondale, and while here we wanted to see the Shrine that EWTN's founders, Mother Angelica, had built one hour north in Hanceville.
