Walk in to Ondo's for a taste of some fine Spanish tapas. This little place is a great option for a date. The decor is not over the top, but still enough to look appealing. Some of the items to try out are house salad, smoke sheep's cheese and of course a Spanish dirty martini.
Co-owners and Executive Chefs, Curt and Deicy Steinbecker opened Ondo's in the Fall of 2009 with a vision of creating Denver's finest tapas bar. Trained at "La Escuela de Cocina Luis Irizar" in the heart of picturesque San Sebastian, Spain, the Steinbecker's infuse every dish they create with extensive knowledge and passion for Spanish and Basque country cuisine. "Solid", "authentic" Spanish tapas are the product of a husband-and-wife team "who trained for years" in San Sebastián and Barcelona before opening this "upscale-yet-casual" "basement" bar "hidden from the rest of Cherry Creek"; a few complain of "tables placed closely together", but with "reasonable prices (especially on the wine)", staffers who "remember you if you come back" and a "pleasant...
We took time out from a busy fall clean up weekend to head down the mountain to Ondo's. We got in on a Saturday night with a minimal wait and were seated in a relaxed setting amid interesting photos from around the world. Tapas plates were appropriately sized and we shared appetizers and two rounds of orders among the 4...
Ondo's has quickly become my new favorite restaurant in all of Denver and the surrounding areas. The whole staff is friendly, courteous and welcoming. From our first visit we felt like we were put right back on the coast of San Sebastián, Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid where we fell in love with this style of eating. Their pintxos bar is...
We love Ondo's! Been there several times and every time the food and wine is superb!
The tapas selection was great. We celebrated my wife's birthday here and had a great time sampling all the different options. Didn't have any disappointing dishes, which is surprising given the number of plates we tried. Try the pork cheek stuffed rellenos, the plantain chips with red pepper sauce, and the sea salted peppers.
Went to Ondo's for Friday Happy Hour. The tapas were $2.00. For the price I wasn't expecting much. Boy, was I wrong! There was quite a variety and they were super tasty. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We'll defiantly be back!
