I love Nobu and have eaten at the Bahamas and Miami locations. San Diego was disappointing and I'm so glad I ate at the other locations first or else I would have totally written off this restaurant. The service was great but the execution of the food was terrible in comparison to the others; poorly sliced sashimi, overcooked black cod, burnt dessert. I don't mind paying good money for...
Noise level was loud. Sashimi was good but the rolls were marginal at best. Service was excellent. Could have been an off night.
Average food. Poor service. Very very slow wait staff. Did not get water until 20 min after sitting, for example.
Nice place, great atmosphere and wonderful service. Food did not come close to the hype or the price. Sushi was sub standard. It was fun, but next time will go back for a drink and eat elsewhere.

Reservations are highly recommended for Nobu San Diego, found across from the Convention Center at the entrance to Gaslamp Quarters.
It's pricey, it's crowded and the crowd is very jet-set international. Dress to impress and make a reservation well in advance to ensure a good seat.
