Information about this business (7)

May 4 - Every summer, Mulberry Project’s patio is done as a different themed “pop up,” mostly inspired by exotic global locations. This year, the inspiration is Tulum, Mexico. We assume that me...view moreans beach and jungle trimmings and maybe some inventive frozen margaritas. Probably not pyramids or underground rivers, though. (Although don’t get me wrong, that would be impressive.)

Mulberry Project offers an evolving menu highlighting seasonal ingredients & local fare developed by head chef, Michael ?Kiwi? Camplin. Each dish can be paired with a specialty cocktail hand-crafted by an experienced & highly-skilled team of mixologists. Enjoy a relaxed environment & individualized service during dinner, and Saturday/Sunday brunch! The subterranean speakeasy features an...

This new, unmarked Little Italy den has taken the lead on the drinking trend of the moment: custom-crafted cocktails. In lieu of an expansive drinks menu there's just a chalkboard listing the fresh fruits of the day. You tell mixologist Jeremy Strawn or his colleagues that you want something sweet with rum, and you might get a white-peach-cinnamon concoction. Prefer citrus? Try a pomelo sour....

"In-the-know" types like this Little Italy "mixology paradise", an unmarked cellar speakeasy where "professional" barkeeps whip up "spectacular" bespoke cocktails "tailored to your taste"; it's a "nothing-fancy" space outdone by its "awesome back patio", but that doesn't preclude occasional "door drama."

1) Greenpoint: Park Slope Italian restuarant Scalino has opened an outpost in the former Cookie Road space on Manhattan Avenue. The menu is the same as the original, with dishes like pappardelle with tomato cream and bacon, and braised lamb shank with white beans. Status: Certified Open. 659 Manhattan Ave.

Mulberry Project is a chic restaurant and subterranean cocktail lounge tucked beneath the 'Mean Streets' of little Italy, and boasting an impressive outdoor garden in the rear. The ever-evolving menu of creative small plates by Chef Michael "Kiwi" Camplin prominently features market fresh, seasonal ingredients and a variety of flavors to please all palates and perfect to share. Mulberry Project Restaurant Review

Once the subterranean home of an Italian speakeasy called My Little Secret, this stylish cocktail lounge specializes in bespoke beverages and sophisticated small plates. Glance at the chalkboard on the wall listed with available seasonal ingredients --- from various exotic fruits to spices --- and tell the bartender what you want. Asian pear and Bourbon? The staff will manage to mix up...

Former speakcheesy taken over by downtown bar pros. Milk and Honey, GoldBar, and Bagatelle hands join forces for intimate booze den. Street smarts evident in tagged red walls behind the bar, mouthy smile framing the pick-up window. Food gives a shoutout to Paul Revere (choose one if by land, and two if by sea), covers small plates like steak tartare, mackerel crudo, pork belly and fig. Mai Tais...

Too cold, there was no local street art as stated in their website. The cocktails were original and tasty.

So they didn't have food when we went, but the drinks were outstanding. Whether we ordered from the menu or grabbed a bespoke coctail, they were absolutely worth it!

Great, the bartenders were very personable and friendly! The drinks were refined, yet boozy. Ambiance was great,

Business description (4)

The subterranean speakeasy boasts an elaborate street art collection, paying homage to the popular renegade culture of New York City. Highlighting the back-bar stands a bright crimson mural created by veteran artist Kurtis Kulig (aka LoveMe) drawing attention to the venue’s focal point-the bar- transforming it into a “stage” for cocktail craftsmanship. Towards the back of the room stands the DJ...

After graduating from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and earning 10 years of experience in the trenches of Wall Street at financial heavyweights Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, honing his expertise in quantitative equity analysis and trading; Mr. Boccio transitioned away from the financial world and into the business of hospitality. Jumping at once into a...

Tucked in the back of Mulberry project is our outdoor patio. Styled after a New York city park, this oasis seats around 50 people on communal tables and an assortment outdoor furniture

Tips about this business (3)

You'll have to descend a flight of stairs and walk past a two-way mirror to access the entrance, though there's no secret handshake required.

A heated back patio provides a place for outdoor imbibing (or shady deal-making).

Small plates include dishes like polenta with prosciutto, risotto balls and, of course, cannolis for dessert.
