It was a last-minute pick for a hotel in San Diego. A week before that, I flew with friends to Huntsville, TX and checked in at a motel 6 and saw a giant cockroach. Stayed here 3 years ago.
Staff as usual more than friendly and helpful. Motel busy and fully booked.
Area somewhat run down these days.
Some strange people hanging around McDonalds which shares driveway.
However, room clean and reasonable.
Dog friendly.
Found walls thin with trucks running all night.

Stinky Room

The room smelled like sewage and the parking lot did not feel safe. There were homeless people with their dogs and crack heads sitting in their cars drinking alcohol. Where is security? When I asked for a new room the next day because of the smell, front desk lady, Rae said "Did you say something yesterday when you checked in?"...
