Mondrian Los Angeles Hotel Review

Though not the fanciest hotel in town, this one is certainly among the hippest. There is an almost anonymous quality to the façade --- watch for the address carefully, or you might easily pass right by the 30-foot mahogany doors that frame the entrance to the stylish lobby with its free-standing bar and rather futuristic décor (spiffed up by designer Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz). The original design...

The attitude problem at this once insanely hot hotel has gone down a few notches, perhaps in keeping with the recent unveiling of a softer design. The owners of the famously forbidding Mondrian, originally designed by Philippe Starck, tapped up-and-comer Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz to help warm up its icy image with a refresh and redesign. The once white-on-white lobby is now home to the ADCB...

Not So Good

Weird lobby and front desk staff, snobby for no reason at all because it needs renovation. Not for real travelers more for someone that can't drive home after drinks. Uncomfortable place all around. Room was strange and cold, more like a teen bedroom. Horrible bed. Cheap looking finish work in room. Hot mini-fridge and not good hot but hot like...

Perfect start to our honeymoon

LA was the first stop on our honeymoon and we chose the Mondrian for its location and chic style. We arrived late after a long day travelling and were met with a great reception and as we were travelling with Virgin they had alerted the hotel to the fact it was our honeymoon and were treated to a free upgrade!...

Nothing special

Hotel is located on sunset boulevard which is a good location. It has a nice bar which serves good food.
Hotel staff are aloof and not very friendly.
Rooms are nothing special and very noisy from the bar downstairs.
Stay at the Andaz across the road instead.

Great place to stay in LA

Stayed at Mondrian in 1 bedroom suite for 2 nights with hollywood hills view. Beautiful large suite with comfortable bed. Absolutely no view to speak of though as this was on level 3 which was pretty disappointing - ask for city view on high floor. Bar is good but service is average in bar.

This is a very nice hotel and i have enjoyed my stay here. Rooms are a little small but very clean and with beautiful decorations. I had a view over Hollywood Hills. This is a very nice view. The view over Los Angels is awesome as well. The rooms over Sunset boulevard can be a little noisy.
Room service is...

Mondrian Los Angeles is one of Ian Schrager's most avant-garde, hip hotels. It draws musicians, actors, models and more with its minimalist, stark but elegant decor. The 12-story property sits in the midst of Sunset's famed nightlife scene. The Skybar and Asia de Cuba, located inside the Mondrian, offer their own ultra-chic version of nightlife and dining. As a guest of the hotel, you are...
