Bethany Place has been a shelter for battered women in Cherokee County for the past 22 years. During that time, Sandy Reed and husband Michael have taken in more than 1,800 women and children. The shelter was formerly a chicken house that the couple turned into a immaculately decorated home and worship center. There is a second-hand store attached to the home to raise money for the bills....
