Great vibe in this restaurant, very nice people, but it seems they cut corners when it comes to the food. I asked for balsamic vinegar to add to the dipping oil for the bread and was given Heinz Red Wine Vinegar. Not the same. I ordered Frutti di Mare. The angel hair pasta it was served with may have been the worst pasta I've ever eaten. I substituted a lemon white wine sauce for the palomino...
The service was outstanding and the food was even better. After we asked our server a few questions, it sounds like the restaurant has new management and a lot of positive changes are being made. All dishes are freshly made, from fresh ingredients and made to order. Ambiance was fantastic as well. I wish I didn't live out of state so I could go back soon!
We took our family to Mamma Mia on Christmas Eve for the first time. The ambiance was wonderful. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant for every day dining to a special event. This is a little gem tucked away in downtown Rochester.
This was our third time at Mama Mia's and I must say, I was very impressed. The first two times, the service was not very good, but this was shortly after they opened, so I am happy to see they've addressed this issue. Our waitress couldn't have been more attentive, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. I am looking forward to going back again.
We suspected something was wrong when we arrived for our reservation and the restaurant was virtually empty. A few minutes after arriving, we were met by someone and after an awkward exchange asking if we had reservations, he said he would check on a table for our party. During his absence, a group was walking out and warned us that it tool 45 minutes to get their drunk order.. strike 1.
