Despite the fact that Lou's -- located in Encinitas -- is pretty far removed from most of San Diego, it is an uncommonly good music store.

While you can pick up the hottest CDs from the Billboard pop charts at Lou's, the real strengths in this shop are in the vast selection of independent and small label releases.

Lou's also has a very well-rounded stock of hardcore, emo and old punk rock.
