Dr. John Santopolo is the founder and president of Long Island Endodontics in New York. He’s been in private practice in Woodmere for nearly thirty years and opened a second office in Merrick in 2007.
Dr. Santopolo is a leader in the implementation of new technologies in the field of Endodontics. He utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and was one of the first in New York State to perform endodontic procedures with the aid of an orascope. In 2011, he purchased a YAP Laser, which aids in the removal of broken instruments and limits the amount of time a patient is in the chair.
Dr. Santopolo received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University in 1971, his DDS from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1975 and his MScD from Boston University in 1978.
In addition to maintaining a full-time practice limited to Endodontics, Dr. Santopolo has served as past president of the Rockaway Dental Society and The New York State Association of Endodontics. Until the recent closing, he was on the staff of Peninsula General Hospital located in New York City and is an active member of the ADA, the AAE, the New York State Association of Endodontists and is an elected member of the board of the Nassau County Dental Society. He is also past president of The Hewlett-Woodmere Business Association.
Dr. Santopolo also serves as a member of Real World Endo's Board of Advisors and is a certified lecturer for Real World Endo. He frequently lectures throughout the east coast and continues to publish articles on various topics related to his field, including stem cell technology, the single tooth anesthesia system and the YAP Laser.
