What the community has to say about Little Star Pizza

Information about this business (1)

If you haven't tasted our pizza, you've probably read about it. A local institution, and winner of many magazine and newspaper accolades, our new location brings deep dish quality pies to the Mission. Our Windy City style has been responsible for many flat-crust converts, but we serve up fat and flat pies alike. Take-out, dine-in, devour.

"Heavenly deep-dish" Chicago-style pizzas with "flavorful" cornmeal crusts and "tangy, chunky tomato sauce" are offered alongside "super-crispy thin-crust" varieties at these "fair-priced" parlors; devotees call it a "fun space", but because it's often "noisy" – and "no reservations" lead to "long waits" – some just "grab" and "go."

Little Star Pizza Restaurant Review

Mission District hipsters rejoice that they need not travel north of the Panhandle for their gourmet pizza fix. Instead they wait patiently (no reservations accepted) at the local classic's second joint on Valencia. This darker, more streamlined version of Little Star Divisadero has banquette booths, mid-century modern light fixtures and a decidedly more mature vibe. The second-best jukebox in...

Cornmeal crusts and funky urban atmosphere lure deep-dish fans to this Mission pizzeria.

The Scene
Like its older sibling in the Western Addition, this dimly lit parlor counters its sketchy block with casually sleek decor and an indie-rock jukebox soundtrack (think: the...

Little Star Pizza was absolutely delicious! Although I have bookmarked many San Francisco places to eat, this one was not on my bookmarks list! Luckily, my friend heard great things about Little Star Pizza by word-of-mouth and convinced me to try this hyped up pizza place out for myself. We walked in on a …

Fantastic Deep Dish Pizzas. My favorite is definitely the Sausage Deep Dish. Location is great, very clean and cozy interior. Definitely a pizza spot worth checking out if you're in the area.

Business description (3)

What says "group-friendly" better than a classic Italian pizza parlor? If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere where you won't feel self-conscious about the noise that naturally comes with large groups, head to Little Star Pizza. It's the kind of no-fuss spot that makes being with a big gang all the more fun. And the pizza is one of the best in the city, with both thin slice pizza and deep...

Thin crust and deep dish pizzas available at locations in the Mission and Western Addition.

Chicago style pizza with San Francisco flair

Tips about this business (6) view all

The Extras: House-made cheesecake and gelato are on the menu, but don't bother saving room for them--the pizza is hard to follow.

Save Time: Call at least 30 minutes ahead of time for takeout orders. Deep-dish pies take at least 25 minutes to bake and there's usually quite a queue for to-go orders.

Know Before You Go: Neither reservations nor credit cards are accepted, but there is an ATM on-site.
