San Francisco's 25 Most Iconic Pizzerias

Pizza Week is here, and for our second annual edition, we've rounded up our favorite pizzas in the Eater SF coverage area (that would be San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley). From thin-crust to deep-dish, from takeout windows to upscale establishments, from co-op bakeries to family-owned classics, the Bay Area pizza scene has never been more diverse, and to our mind, these are the spots that...

Little Star Pizza Restaurant Review

As any pizza connoisseur can attest, it's all about the crust. The thin-crust pies at this Western Addition joint have just-right blistering, while the light, buttery cornmeal crust on a deep dish pie magically remains crispy yet moist. You'll find only premium toppings---seasonal produce and artisan meats that elevate even a basic pie. Try the namesake deep dish, a creamy blend of ricotta,...

Ordered the deep dish. It takes a while (about 30 minutes). But well worth it. Go early. Huge crowds. Nice atmosphere. Parking is typical for San Francisco. Can't wait to go again

I ordered a large thin cheese pizza with double Kalamata olives. I ate the whole darn thing by myself. Pizza was excellent. Cooked to Perfection, and not mushy anywhere.
Restaurant was packed, but I was seated immediately. Dining room is nice, and bathroom is relatively...

Chi-Style Pizza in SF

There seems to be a pizza place on almost every corner no matter where you are, so the competition in this segment is great. That said, on a miserably rainy Friday after work, this place was packed. So that tells you Little Star is doing...

In a city like San Francisco, there are no shortage of pizzerias—no shortage of really good pizzerias, for that matter. On a visit last spring, we were on the prowl for a change of pizzeria, but it had to meet several requirements: it couldn’t close...

We stopped in on a Saturday night. Wait was reasonable - about 30 minutes. The garlic bread is worth the price, with lots of fresh garlic. Try the chicken, bacon, Brie pizza. A unique combo, the Brie works well.
