We had sweet potato soup, French onion soup, duck a l'orange, monk fish and toasted almond cream cake. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent. It was the best meal we had in NYC during our visit.

A very pleasant and well established bistro - went there because we were in the area - the escargot were surprisingly good (we are garlic lovers and this received a 7 out of 10 and we are very difficult to please) - one of us stuck with traditional bistro fare (and the steak was great) the other tried a seasonal dish and was disappointed. Been to L'Express several times for both dinner and brunch and always like it. Good variety of reasonably priced meals and wines (get the house Cotes du Rhone). It's a little like Balthazar but you can actually get a table. Nice staff.

Short ribs were delicious. Salmon undercooked and liuke warm asked for med rare was cold in middle but good quality.
