Help us make it rightAustin's favorite downtown Mexican spot. Serving breakfast and lunch -- daily specials available.
This funky family-owned Mexican diner, decked out with local artwork and colorful booths and tables, is an Austin classic -- don't leave town without checking it out. A rack of alternative newspapers at the door sets the political tone, but businesspeople and slackers alike pile into this small place for breakfasts of migas con queso (eggs scrambled with corn tortillas, cheddar cheese, and...

Unfortunately this resturant was forced to close due to urban expeantion, they demolished this building for a new sky scraper. The food was great, the place always packed. It will be missed.
This wonderful emporium is NO MORE and HAS BEEN for 16 months now.

This restaturant CLOSED permanently on August 31, 2008, and yet Citysearch is still listing it 8 months later as if it were still open!!! And there is no obvious way to report that a business has closed! Isn't the whole internet thing about current information? Citysearch - you are quite literally OLD NEWS.
Pros
+ CLOSED
Cons
- CLOSED
A local recommended this place for an inexspensive breakfast. We loved it. My kids ate a ton, so did the adultas and it was unter $25 for 6 people. We ate there twice! It was a close walk to the children's museum which was a bonus.
I do like the nachos but at what cost? I can forgive the overpricing, it is what it is, there is obviously a demand... What I can not forgive is the overwhelmingly rude staff. They don't care if you come back or not. My last waitress might just as well have spat in my food right in front of me. None of them ever smile; you get more customer service at a drive through window.
Pros
+ When you finally get your food it isn't terrible
Cons
- The atmosphere and service brings you down

This little downtown cafe attracts multitudes for its fresh food. It gets packed at lunchtime, so be prepared to wait. If you're looking for quiet conversation, this is not the place--it can get loud.
Don't bother with iced tea, Texas' year-round drink of choice. Throw caution to the wind and order a tangy, fresh-squeezed limonada.
