First off, I'm not a sweets guy. I'm a sour guy. And while folks love the Joli Kobe Bakery for their sweets, but I bumrush their Midtown location for one reason only: their ham and cheese sandwich.

This glorious monster boast not two, but three slices of bread. Reason? Our guess is that the third slice is to help sop up some of the gooey-good cheese. Laced with not only Gruyere but Bechamel (a sort of French fondu situation), the cheese has a little bit of bite to it, that perfectly accents the salty ham.

Since this is a bit of a gut bomb, I go with the house salad for a side. Which...
