Old-world Continental dining with myriad tableside preparations.

Imperial House Restaurant Review: A throwback to another era, this elegantly appointed restaurant in the landmark Imperial Apartments tower will doubtless be serving Châteaubriand---carved tableside for two---and veal Oscar in the next millennium. A loyal clientele likes the friendly but old-world style with high-backed red leather chairs, white linens and formal service. In a nod to modernity,...

Old School Experience-I like it

Average Rating

Imperial House is best described as an old school supper club right down to the tux-dressed waiters and red booths. We dropped by twice, once for cherries jubilee (flambe) and once for a drink while walking out of Balboa Park. Both times the experience was like a throw back, right down to the Manhattens in the bar. Had I been...

Close to Balboa Park. Formal dining but casual dress if you like. dishes prepared at you table such as Steak Diane. Most items are from years ago that today's new place don't serve. A great treat to find some of the old school dishes. Waiters in tuxes.

This Restaurant had a good reputation two decades ago. Today it is shocking old fashioned in the Menu set up,
non qualified service and tasteless food.
Wasted my evening with date.

First time dining here and sadly we were disappointed. The owners should go to Palm Springs and dine at Mister Parker's and take notes. First off, the service could be more attentive, polished and friendly (waiters seem to be going through the motions). Secondly, have someone create some great "supper club" playlists and play those rather than random 70's elevator...

A wonderful step back in time

How fitting that Frank Sinatra was playing while we were dining. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip back in time. It brought back fond memories of going out for holiday dinners with our parents. Our food was delicious albeit a bit old school. We loved the flambe desserts & the table side service. We will be going back with our visiting...
