They Hyatt is rated as a 4-star hotel on Priceline. My family and I usually bid for $50 and stay here for the 4th of July.
They always upgrade the room and give us a nice view.
The staff here is friendly to children. The Spindletop restaurant is a blast for families. Call for reservations is advance.
There is a great sandwich called ""The Houston"" sandwich in the snack shop. It's an ""adult"" bologna sandwich, and you have to try it.
Pros
+ Pool
Cons
- Spindletop restaurant is often closed

Pros
+ Newly renovated, Ideal location, great staff & service

I first came to the Hyatt downtown during my senior prom way back in '79. My date took me to Spindletop...WOW! I thought that was the coolest restaurant I had ever seen. I decided to bring my husband to Spindletop to see how it had changed....
