My family and I dine here couple of days ago. This is a really good fresh burger, quality is consistent. he burgers are juicy, huge and perfectly cooked. The homemade fries were a great addition to our lunch. Decent place I would come back.

Some of "the best burgers in Houston" turn up at this diminutive, no-frills counter-service American Downtown offering a variety of toppings, from kalamata olives to Cheetos, with cheeky names like the Quadruple Heart Clogger (with hot dogs, bacon, chili and cheese); some say "overrated", although the Heights branch pleases with lots of microbrews, two patios, a jukebox and flat-screen TVs.

Citysearch Editorial Review

This tiny downtown burger shack cooks up big hand-formed burgers for a loyal fan base.

This tiny burger shack next door to The Alden feeds the downtown lunch crowd juicy hand-crafted burgers with creative toppings.

In Short
While owner Ricky Craig might skimp on square footage, he certainly takes a different attitude when it comes to the quality of his ingredients: 100% all-beef ground chuck, never...

This place makes large 7-9 dollar burgers extra for fries and drinks. The burger was delicious and fries are good too. But probably won't go back bc of hrs and priced too much for what it is.

As a burger lover, I had been wanting to try this place for the longest time and was finally able to try it during black Friday. The place was small and being in downtown, it did not have its own parking. However, downtown seemed to be pretty much deserted that day and so we were able to park right accross. …

When Stanton's was unexpectedly closed on a Saturday, this downtown dive was the nearest substitution. Perhaps it doesn't have the same Yelp hype, but it's still Zagat rated and makes a good burger. They have interesting variations, Philly Cheese Steak and Cheeto Burgers for example. The patty is …

I've heard a lot about this place and finally tried their burger. I'm happy to report that it did not disappoint. The cheese was melty and gooey, and it's probably the perfect burger after a long night.

After several years as a customer, Hubcap Grill still ranks for me as one of the top burgers in the city. Quality is consistent. Fresh ground beef, hand-formed thick patties, seasoned and seared to perfect crispiness on a hot flattop. Fresh ingredients, locally-sourced fresh buns to top it off. Hand-cut fries, fried …

Business description (4)

Hubcap Grill is regarded by gastronomes as one of the best burger joints in town, if not the best. This Downtown location is the original branch and a must-visit spot for all burger fans. Here, you can sample the classic hamburger, only in an over-sized version with double the amount of melted cheese and beef. The custom buns are tough enough to hold the extra beef, cheese and optional...

Tips about this business (4)

Where to Sit

There is more seating outside than inside the tiny cramped restaurant. So get here early enough to snag a table or get your burger to go.

Know Before You Go

Bring cash because credit cards aren't accepted, although there is an ATM onsite if you forget.

The Extras

You can add as many toppings (fried eggs, ham) and patties as you like for additional charge. The current record for hugest burger is nine patties.

Know Before You Go

The interior is tiny and narrow and grabbing a seat during the lunch rush is tough so take-out might be a good option.
