The last couple times I've gone here it really wasn't the same as the very first visit more than 7 years ago. They do have really good but expensive crab rangoons, however. I usually get the standard broccoli beef or sesame chicken but they never have the same taste as they did in the past and I'm not sure why.

Part of me is posting this because I don't think they deserve an average 3 star rating. These guys have the best egg rolls in Dubuque. They also have amazing homemade hot mustard. Most Chinese restaurants provide the prepackaged garbage mustard but these guys have some really good stuff. …

One doesn't stick around here that long without being excellent. They've been around longer than I have. Every other store or restaurant in the neighborhood has turned over several times, but not House of China. I've eaten there several times over the past 30 years and the food has always been delicious, the staff friendly, and the atmosphere warm and clean.

We had two meals in two days there since the service, ambiance, and food were very good. It is a big restaurant on the inside and it was not busy either night. We enjoyed two shrimp meals, Shrimp with Scallops and Shrimp in Lobster sauce. Both needed a little help with soy sauce flavoring. The sizzling rice soup was also...

It was the only decent looking restaurant that wasn't a fast food chain in town. I had diarreah for 2 days after eating here.
