We do really enjoyed our stay here, the rooms are spacious, the bathroom was clean and beautiful. The staff or service crews was pleasant. They have good facilities, nice and beautiful. The patio was also great.
The place is beautiful and it was in good location, subway is just near outside the hotel for easy access. The rooms are comfortable and very relaxing bed. The food also here was awesome. It was a good experience staying at this hotel.

Set in the Copper Square district of downtown Phoenix, this hotel is a reminder of a different era. The Italian Renaissance-inspired building was constructed in 1928 and is now on the National Register of Historic Hotels. Hollywood stars used to spend time here when Phoenix was a desert outpost of fewer than 50,000 residents. The 212 accommodations feature 11 celebrity suites, including the Mae...
The Bottom Line: Remodeled rooms are preferable at this campy icon to a glitzy past. What's Special About the Hotel San Carlos: This historic hotel in a 1928 Italian Renaissance building has hosted celebrities such as Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy and Mae West (who has a suite named after her). Guest Rooms and Rates: 121 guest rooms and suites from $70.
If you don't mind staying in downtown Phoenix with the convention crowds, you'll get good value at this historic hotel. Built in 1928 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the San Carlos provides that touch of elegance and charm missing from other downtown choices. I'm a big fan of historic properties and am pretty tolerant of their quirks (especially as a long-time owner of an old house). During my last stay in Phoenix I stayed in a nondescript chain hotel and I wanted to give the Hotel San Carlos a try, despite the mixed reviews.

Poor sound proofing ,
You Hear every noise your neighboor makes!
Plumbing drains do not drain properly!
Lighting in my room was terrible !
Windows in room did not open!
No thermostat in my room ,it gets cold at night!
Don't waste your money, you will regret it!

I stayed at this hotel as a part of a conference for work. The hotel is billed as a historic hotel, however there is much that could be done to improve this. There is lots of information on the hotel in the lobby and on each floor of the hotel, which is nice. The rooms themselves need work. The bathroom...
This is a semi-funky old-school hotel with early Twentieth Century charm still intact. The walls aren't as sound-proofed as they could be, but the preserved pre-war details made it a refreshing change from the typical modern boxes nearby. Framed placards detailing the hotel's illustrious history line the halls, and kitschy Western art makes a bit of hall-wandering fun. The outdoor...
Although it was relatively clean, it was very old --- thin walls, no on-site parking (although the parking staff was wonderful), and no on-site eatery. Staff happily changed our room upon arrival due to the extremely loud noise next to our first room!
