Despite this hotel's literary namesake, the celebrity most often associated with the Hotel Mark Twain is Billie Holiday, who was arrested here in a 1949 drug raid. Today, the 118-room hotel is no longer a hotspot for the stars, but rather…

A lodging staple for budget-minded road-trippers and business travelers.

Functional hotel with nice facilities and helpful staff.
The facilities are clean and efficient. The bed is very comfortable so it all appears perfect but the walls are thin and neighbouring rooms kept us awake until gone 0300.

hotel undergoing renovation therefore not without its issues. also, next to seedy Tenderloin district, but ideally located to get around city. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Front desk Alexander has the patience of a saint and Armando is a mine of local knowledge.
I liked the non- hotel chain atmosphere. the refurbished rooms are comfortable and clean.

Noisy old room but seemed clean and offering a good vibe overall. I like the ambiance but it's too bad the windows are so thin as you can hear everything outside . The service was good and everything was 2-3 star

I should have probably known booking this hotel with no cancellation policy that the experience would be less than stellar but that is on me. A Good company guarantees their product. There was no AC in the hotel, trash was left in the hallway and an the elevator fits one person that the construction workers use all day long while...
