Ask for a king bed with a beach view

The view from my room on the 6th floor of the Ocean View was magnificent - the pool was outside the balcony doors and the beach was outside the plantation shutters on the side windows. Other people in our party got a view of the loading dock or the parking lot. My room was super clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.

First stay at The Del was just okay

My wife and I decided to stay there for an overnight stay-cation. Overall, it was a nice stay. Nothing exceptional. The rooms are small, as are most in old hotels. But this room was very small. Not enough room for two in the bathroom and no real seating area. The room itself was also understocked. Only one K-Cup coffee and two decaf. Also only one complimentary bottle of water. Hotel needs some TLC and entertainment options were less thanexpected. No in room movies. No music venues. We came to a resort ready to relax, maybe dance a little, and thoroughly enjoy. Great Hotel slightly below its current full potential.

We have visited the Del Coronado a few times before and always wanted to stay. All I can say is stay away from the hotel at Christmas. The public areas (lobby, restaurants, bars) are wall to wall tourists. The rooms we stayed in were nice and clean but noisy.
