Originally built in 1936, this charming Art Deco hotel has been reinvented while keeping such features as its original 1936 Vitrolite wall panels. Guestrooms are d?corated in taupe, chrome and blond woods, and include CD mini stereos, minibars and marble bathrooms. A daily resort fee covers high-speed Internet access, daily newspaper, beach lounge chairs, umbrella and towels.

Deco standout that's chic and cozy at the same time. The lighting is very flattering as are the rooms with Frette linens and towels that are hard not to throw in your knock-off Birkin bag. No pool, but two blocks from the beach. Happening restaurant and bar scene.

I stayed recently at the Astor for the Music Conference and the South Beach Scene and it was a excellent choice. Great location, walking distance from the Beach & Cool Restaurants.
