Walked in and got no help. Went two stores down to cyclepath and got great service and my wire a new bike.
This is a spin off from a nearby shop whose wrenches set out on their own. Great service, helpful, skilled, pretty good selection. This shop is particularly good on selections of kids bikes. Don't get your bike at a box store, go here.

FYI, The owners and staff of Cyclepath Hayward at 22510 Foothill Blvd are new as of May 19, 2009. The old owners and staff have moved down the block to 22420 Foothill Blvd and have renamed the business Hayward Bicycles. I felt I should mention that here as it looks like Hayward Bicycles has been catching some reviews on insiderpages that they do not deserve. So, if you see a review written...
I bought my TREK at this establishment. How they became an authorized dealer I will never know, they couldn't repair my bike correctly. I couldn't even get the components or tires I needed. Do not go to this store. Staff is ignorant they have no idea what they are selling, so save yourself some time and go elsewhere. I do
