A longtime Atlanta stalwart, Hal's on Old Ivy shows Creole touches, with such dishes as Brabant potatoes, shrimp rémoulade, crawfish tails and gumbo. A "perennial favorite" in the "old chophouse mode", this "quaint" North Buckhead steakhouse offers "fantastic" steaks and other "New Orleans"-inspired fare along with "awesome" service to a mostly "over-40 crowd"; "everyone seems to know everyone" in the "lively" setting with a "killer" piano bar, and while a few report "smoky", "noisy" conditions, most consider it a "neighborhood gem."

Probably sounds weird to go to a steakhouse for soup, but they have some of the best in town, a warm atmosphere and great staff.

Atlanta classic! Recommend this to anyone looking to have a great time with great food and a good pour! Best Filet I have ever had. Great place to people watch or celebrate with friends. There’s never a dull moment. A great place to bring friends, family, or coworkers visiting Atlanta (especially if it’s their first time)!

The food and service was fantastic. We sat at the bar before our table was ready and the bartender was very nice and accommodating. Our waiter was also excellent. He gave suggestions and was prompt with all the drinks, appetizers and entree. Great experience!
