The drive along palm-lined Kearney Boulevard is one of the best reasons to visit the museum, which stands in shaded 225-acre Kearney Park. The century-old home of M. Theo Kearney, Fresno's onetime "raisin king," is accessible only on guided 45-minute tours.

Beautiful home, however, the tour was too short and the guide was speaking too fast trying to squeeze all the information in the allotted time. We left feeling confused and incomplete.

Kearny Mansion is beautifully decorated in period style: furniture, rugs, wallpaper, historic objects. Downstairs parlors, upstairs bedrooms, all very interesting and authentic. Especially nice to visit at Christmas time when all decorated for holidays or during the Civil War Recreation event.
