Information about this business (3)

ZAGAT: Its name “couldn’t be more apt” gush groupies of TriBeCa’s “baby bernardin” “exquisite” yet “no-pretense” seafood. MICHELIN: “The menu at Fresh changes every day to feature the daily catch, which might include choices from Maine peekytoe crab to Nantucket strawberry bass and Florida Keys grouper with its affable wait staff nets a steady stream of loyal fish lovers. NY MAGAZINE: It’s rare...

fresh...an elegant seafood restaurant where the salty air, swooping seagulls and sound of the surf are the only things missing from the experience. The sweetest, most flavorful fish and shellfish accompanied by the freshest season vegetables, herbal essences and spices instead of heavy sauces and creams, allowing the ingredients to blossom on the plate. The amazing room with inspirations taken...

Walking into this TriBeCa eatery is like suddenly finding yourself in Puerto Rico or one of its neighboring countries. Latin music is blaring, waiters are hustling by, and diners are dancing in their seats and clapping along to the music.…

An aquatic theme and superior seafood make a splash in Tribeca.

The Scene
Awash in tones of blue and beige, with arching walls that mimic rolling waves, this large L-shaped room is anchored by a glassed-in kitchen. In the early evening, a local...

Editorial review from Citysearch

Stopped by here on a Sex and the City tour. Should I admit that? I was with my girlfriend and she loved rubbing and smelling all the lotions and potions. Me, I liked the eye candy and how she smelled later. Staff left me alone which I appreciated.

We booked this place for our company Christmas party. They were 30 minutes late seating us. And then proceeded to ignore our entire office for the most part...

This review is for the club downstairs. We came to get down. Sazon had no problem with my Zumba class coming over in our kicks and leggings and completely...

This food is so fresh and yummy and soul fulfilling. Takes a little to long to get to you though. So maybe 4.5 stars, if they speed it up? 5 stars for sure.

The name Sazon seems almost absurd for this establishment. The food was bland but, there were bigger issues with this place like the hostesses on the day my...

Business description (2)

Fresh Restaurant can be found at Reade St 105. The following is offered: Restaurants: Seafood. The entry is present with us since Sep 7, 2010 and was last updated on Nov 12, 2013. In New York there are 216 other Restaurants: Seafood. An overview can be found here.

Fish doesn't get any meatier than it does at Fresh, where you can get oven-roasted monkfish steak and charred "Kobe" tuna (sublimely fatty seared belly flesh). Chef Daniel Angerer continues to reinvent the seafood menu in surprising ways. Halibut cheeks are as tender as the foie gras with which they're paired, and English batter-fried haddock may be the best in the city. Fresh's offerings...

Tips about this business (2)

What to Drink

The by-the-glass wine selection is extensive and well-chosen. If you like dry whites, try the Charles Scheret "Herrenweg" sauvignon blanc, from Alsace ($8), or the St. Veran (Le Grand Bussiere from Olivier Merlin ($7).

Where to Sit

The dining room, with a high loftlike ceiling, is not terribly loud, but if you want a little intimacy ask for one of the tables under the large ocean mural.
