Once you sign your cancellation documents, get a copy and keep them in a safe place. The monkeys that run this gym will send you a bill in a year or 2 or 3, stating that you did not cancel your membership, therefore you need to pay the accumulated fees.
If you do not have your documents, they have the right to bill you. If you kept your cancellation document, they will claim an honest mistake on their part.
This is not good business practice.
