Great Port Wines

Known worldwide this is one of the best Port Wine producers anywhere. Nice people in the tasting room. Nothing fancy, just down to earth good place to visit and taste excellent ports. Been there several times during wine trail.

The winery has grown over a number of years and has become well known for its Port Wines. They have an excellent variety of ports. The tasting room is modest and you are in the winery with the barrels. but very comfortable. The staff is very courteous and very knowledgeable on port wines. It is an enjoyable winery to visit...

We cannot say enough good about these folks. Great Ports and cheeses, education oriented staff, and beyond beautiful vineyards! We plan to go back soon.

You will Never forget this place

Don't expect a beautiful tasting room, it's right there with the barrels, but you will never forget the ports. The 20 yr. Tawny, oo la la, and if they have the white port, Adagio, well (I think I died and whent to Heaven). These are the best I have ever tasted, but I'm no expert, taste for yourself. This acreage was purchased by the Ficklin family in 1918, and today produces delightful wines and the grounds host events like the Wine and Chocolate Weekend in February. Tours of the winery and tastings which include fruits, nuts and chocolates are also offered.
