Editorial reviews from the web (1)

"Rodizio is the way to go" at this popular Iberian steakhouse in Newark's Ironbound, where the skewered meats are "done right", as are "outstanding" chops and seafood (backed by "tasty" sangria); if the location's "a bit rough" and the space "noisy", well, the "tons of food" at "excellent prices" wins out ("no one leaves hungry or poor").

We have been there for dinner and will be back. I think it's one of the best Steak House in the area. The menu is vast and tempting.Amazing seafood and huge portions !Sangria is ok !Ambience...

Our family has been going to Fernandes for years to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Although you feel a bit sketchy driving in this dark/warehouse part of Newark--it;s well worth the trip...

Been here many times, went again Saturday and didn't disappoint.Service was fast and helpful,Rodizio.Service was great.Besides rodizio, there is a great variety on the menu and desserts are also...

Hubby and I discovered Fernandes Steakhouse back in November, while driving back home from an Atlantic City trip. Feeling adventurous, we decided to detour into Newark to find an off the beaten...

Recommendation: Rodizio and their Red Sangria. Even if you are stuffed, eat the grilled pineapple at the end, it will seriously help. In the Ironbound, Portugese steakhouses are a dime a dozen...

As you enter the Fernandes Steakhouse, the restaurant captivates you with the green ceiling of its dining room. The most popular dish available here is the filet mignon, which is a favorite among guests. An ideal place to come with a date, this steakhouse offers comfortable ambiance to ensure you have a great time relishing the food. And if you are planning to host a wedding or any other...

Fernandes, on Fleming Street, is a bit off the beaten Ironbound track. Speaking of tracks, the proliferation of railroad tracks in the 1800s gave the area its name, although some argue it was the presence of iron forges and steel fabrication plants. The massive vault in the foyer? The restaurant is housed in a former bank.Walk upstairs to the attractive, greenery-decorated,...

Bank-turned-restaurant. The broiled seafood combination is a boatload of marine munch. Better-than-average filet mignon, served smoking and sizzling on a cylindrical stone. The blue sangria is smooth and seductive. Anyone who makes Windex jokes should be shown the door.
