Visited Cal Expo for the Home and Landscape show. Great venue for all the vendors participating in this show. There was more than enough space for all the vendors on the grounds of Cal Expo. Parking=$10. A wide variety of food can be found in the outdoor spaces.
We had a very nice time at Global Winter Wonderland (December 2015). The colorful lights were very beautiful. They had an ice skating show. They also had food vendors, art galleries, shopping areas, and a photo meet and greet with Santa Claus. For an additional price there were also amusement games and ice skating.

My family and I go to the state fair every year and have for over 25 years! There is so much for everyone of every age to do and enjoy!! I started taking my kids when they were just babies and now I take my kids with their kids and we just can't get enough! Best advice I could give...

For over 150 years, families have enjoyed fantastic rides, attractions, events, live entertainment, and food during this spectacular fair which lasts for almost four weeks and starts in August.
When the Expo Center isn't featuring major events, Sacramentans can visit the theme park on-site.
