The Elite Restaurant opened for business in February 1947 at it's current location, 141 East Capitol Street by Pete and Jimmy Zouboukos.
The restaurant looked much the same until 1974 when a devastating fire destroyed the interior of the restaurant in 1974. The interior was rebuilt and remains the same today. The building as far as it can be determined is late 1800's at best estimate of age....

A cozy, much-loved landmark across from the McCoy Federal Building, this warm restaurant is famous for its homemade rolls, home-style cooking and friendly service. Very friendly and prompt with seating. Waitresses are right there for your order and bringing water and drinks .Their famous handmade yeast rolls are the best in town. They are a little stingy with them these days. Steak.country fried steak and Flounder are the best in town!
