The owners and staff at El Dorado Cocktail Lounge are extremely excited to open the doors for the San Diego community on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 5:00pm. Since February 2nd of this year, this has been a work in progress. During that time we transformed a formerly run-down, dilapidated bar into a lounge that is comfortable and attractive, yet still maintains the character and history of a...

These days, anyone with a strainer seems to call him- or herself a mixologist, but the spirit slingers behind the bar at El Dorado Cocktail Lounge are the real deal. The ice there is perfectly cubed, and there's a daily selection of freshly squeezed juices and a seasonally changing menu—the fall selection highlights one-off recipes such as the Honey Badger (premium rye, honey, and bitters). Come for the cocktails, the live music or the white buffalo head. Crowd is full of young, plaid-shirt wearing, indie music loving guys and gals. Bartenders are stern but friendly and can pour a drink in record time. Lengthy beer menu and $5 happy hour cocktails will keep any thirsty patron happy and returning.

The drinks were delicious and made with great care. The bar was hipster and the age group was definitely young. Would come back and definitely recommend the Moscow Mule!

This is a great place. The cocktails are great, and most of the bartenders are friendly. The DJs are usually good, and there is a good vibe.No usually loud like 5th street.Support this place, as this type of bar downtown is rare.

This beats any Los Angeles Speak Easy or Whiskey bar. The Owner/bartender thoroughly impressed me with his vast knowledge and above as well as exceedingly beyond customer service. These are the type of owners I love to work for and with. Guys, you are doing it right!

I'm a year too late with writing this review. When I heard about this place I was excited to come here and I thought It was in the gas lamp because all my friends hyped this place up. But this place is not in the gas lamp and is in the middle of no where in DT. Street parking is easy to find although I was …

Since I live in the area, this bar and Monkey Paw are my local haunts. Both great bars, but El Dorado has some seriously great cocktails. If you get a chance to meet the bartender Briana, you're in for a treat, as she can skillfully craft you a cocktail of your preference. I think the business direction of the bar …
