Dr. Eric Linden is a periodontist (gum disease specialist) in the field of Laser Periodontal Surgery which includes LANAP, periodontics, regeneration, and dental implants. He has been practicing his specialty since 1985.
Dr. Linden's Qualifications
Dr. Eric Linden is one of the first LANAP practitioners on the east coast. With 26 years experience in periodontal specialty practice, he now performs LANAP laser procedures every day. He has treated thousands of patients, performing tooth extractions, implants, and other periodontal procedures with LANAP.
Unfortunately, most periodontists still treat advanced gum disease with traditional surgery which is better treated with LANAP. Although Dr. Linden still utilizes traditional surgery in some cases, a majority of his patients qualify for the LANAP protocol.
Many of Dr. Linden's patients are direct referrals from other dentists, periodontists, medical professionals, and educated patients seeking the most advanced, innovative, and least invasive techniques available to treat gum disease. Dr. Linden is currently preparing clinical cases for publication.
What is LANAP?
LANAP is an acronym for "Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure".
Traditionally, moderate to advanced periodontitis, or gum disease, was treated with surgery involving cutting, stitching, and significant recovery time. This invasive approach was often painful, and presented “roadblocks” for patients taking medications such as blood thinners, certain cardiac medications, and other systemic medications that would be contraindicated for traditional periodontal surgery.
Although traditional procedures have been successful, our state-of-the-art approach to the treatment of periodontal (gum) disease is more conservative and predictable. With LANAP, we are now able to improve the periodontal health of our patients for many years in a much less invasive way.
LANAP enables a “qualified” periodontist to treat gum disease much more quickly and easily, with no cutting, stitching, bleeding, or pain. Not all lasers are FDA-approved for this procedure. LANAP is the only FDA approved protocol for the treatment of periodontal disease.
Results have included new connective tissue and bone regeneration. LANAP also provides a complete sterilization of the “pockets” in the gum tissue surrounding the teeth by eliminating all the destructive bacteria that cause periodontal or gum disease. More about LANAP.
