This Lower East Side doughnut shop has quickly become a New York eating institution. Mark Isreal goes to the greenmarket every morning and fetches fresh, organic and local ingredients to make his doughnuts. I can't wrap my head around as to why these doughnuts are so expensive! If you order from Goldbelly it will coat you $64 for 12 doughnuts. Never in my life will I pay that kind of money for junk food!

was on a self guided food walking tour I printed of the lower east side... I schlepped the donuts around and brought them home to my family to share- we put them in the garbage-- sad to toss $34 for 5 donuts away. Was expecting...a burst of flavor but they were all pretty tasteless and not filled very much. (really enjoyed my other purchases from the area, so not a total loss)
This place has fantastic donuts! The creme brûlée donut was to die for!!!! Their gf options were also amazing! My husband is celiac and that’s by far the best donut he’s had in 10 years!!! Would highly recommend!
